POSS is a business that implements Open Source technology for small to medium size businesses in Fiji and later for the rest of the pacific island nations as an ICT solution for running their companies. Provisions also available for large businesses but involves more consultation and research.

The business utilizes the rich source of Open Source technology that is available from reputable companies overseas. POSSmakes available most if not everything that every small to medium size companies would need to start off their company from the ground up or to be integrated into the existing ICT infrastructure. From desktop operating systems to financial software are all available for free from POSS.

Because of POSS's exclusive use of Open Source technology, all software and operating system are given absolutely free of charge and there are no license restrictions or costly upgrades. The only charges made by POSS is labor cost for the process of installation, maintenance, upgrades, after sale service or any other process that requires man power. POSS also charges clients on hardware since majority of hardware have to be bought from manufactures that are not Open Source providers (none of which exists anyways; else it would be classified as hardware donors). This would mean that clients would make a lot of savings as compared to using proprietary software and operating systems. All hardware provided by POSS is also relatively cheaper than what’s provided by most companies in Fiji and the Pacific.

Since most open source software even proprietary software requires that users or clients directly liaise with that company overseas, POSS has made it even easier by providing local support for software offered by POSS.
